Dear Reader,
It is with great joy and gladness that I welcome you to the new year.
New year day is actually one of the biggest, widely celebrated event in the world, with people catching up with friends and families, creating memorable moments, influx of new year resolutions and lots of planning for the year.
For a long while, I would say, ever since I started earning for myself, new year for me isn’t just about setting new resolutions, I also made it a habit to ensure newness in my outer look, like, wear new outfit and make new hair, that way, I would appear new too… *smiles, or so I thought, but it sure boosts my appearance and confidence as I step out. That’s what newness does actually.
Well, this year, I didn’t really pull through with the other part of the ‘new year, new me’ look. Lol. I did try though, but the plan just didn’t work out due to the very limited time with no major break off work, plus, the fact that the market price isn’t economically friendly.
But guess what? That didn’t stop me from anything as I stepped into the new year with so much radiance and confidence. Now, this confidence isn’t coming from wearing a new outfit or making my hair, I didn’t do any of that, but rather, it was internal and I leveraged on that.
You see, setting your new year resolution is absolutely amazing, it keeps you on your toes, right? And it also gives you a sense of achievement to tick those boxes, right?
Excellent!
However,
It doesn’t always have to be about new year resolutions, new year new me.
How about you just leverage on what you’ve been building from the previous year, try to define it better and build on it without adding unnecessary pressure to yourself.
This year, I want you to remember to live in the moment, do not think too far ahead, appreciate what you have at the moment, spend time with the people that care and matter, not forgetting to be yourself all the time.
Here’s to another beautiful year of being me and setting my own rules, a year of possibilities and all the fulfillment it brings. 🥂
May your resolutions turn to realities.
